ACPL RECOGNIZES APRIL’S JAZZ APPRECIATION MONTH

Throughout the month of April, the Allen County Public Library invites the community to celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month with a variety of programs, presentations, and experiences that celebrate the heritage and history of jazz music in America. It is a national celebration created by Smithsonian Jazz.


Jazz Appreciation Month activities include:


  • Jazz Fest: A New Orleans Story Film Screening – This film includes live performances and interviews from the 50th anniversary of the iconic festival featuring some of the biggest names in the music industry.  April 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Main Library.


  • JAM for Jazz Appreciation Month – Visit ACPL locations to celebrate the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Pat Metheny, Miles Davis and more performed by local musicians Alicia Pyle Duo and Dave Latchaw Duo. Concerts are from noon to 1 p.m. at multiple locations throughout the month.
