The Story Behind the Branch

The Monroeville Branch is located in the Town of Monroeville in the south east corner of Allen County. The Branch serves the residents of the Town and the people who live in rural East Allen County, Adams County, Ohio, Hoagland, New Haven and Fort Wayne. The Branch is known for personalized service and community involvement. The staff participates in outreach to local schools and in local events such as the Monroeville Harvest Festival Parade.

Although considered a small branch, we offer a variety of different programs including storytimes, children, teens and adult programming; we also offer scrapbooking, homesteading, Summer Learning Programs and a variety of other programs. The Monroeville Branch has become known for the annual model train display, which takes place at the end of December through the month of January. The model train set up is presented by the Three Rivers and Indiana Northern model railroading club based in Fort Wayne; this has become a very popular event that many people have included as part of their holiday activities. A number of local clubs meet regularly at the Branch including the Pieceful Quilters and the Four Presidents Corners Historical Society. On Election Day, the meeting room serves as a polling station.

In addition, we offer a variety of materials including books, DVDs, CDs board games, video games and puzzles. Patrons have access to ACPL digital resources, and they can place items on hold that are available at other locations. The inter-library loan service is also available for certain items not in the system. The Branch also offers a study room, meeting room, fax machine, copier and WIFI access which all serve our patrons well. Our goal is to provide excellent service so that it will make visiting the library a positive and memorable experience.
