The Story Behind the Branch

The Georgetown Library is an anchor location in the outdoor Georgetown Square shopping plaza. The branch is located at the intersection between urban and suburban neighborhoods, places of businesses and schools. Due to the branch location, this busy library is a popular stopping point for the residents of Fort Wayne specifically those of Wayne and Allen townships. The library features a Makerspace with a variety of machines and software that that public can use for their creative projects. The library offers regular programs on the maker equipment as well as traditional library programming such as story-times, an art gallery, gaming and crafting programs. The library’s collection includes a large selection of graphic novels, children’s storybooks, juvenile and teen fiction as well as adult large print books. Staff are available to assist with patron’s printing and photocopying needs. The library also has small study rooms that individuals can reserve and a large meeting room that groups can reserve.
